This is a simple guide for first-timers who may not know what to expect coming out to a Dagorhir camping event. This is not a list of omg-I-have-to-have-this, but this is to merely inform and suggest. I would also take this list along with a copy of the Laws of the Land here at Stewart's Farm to get yourself as prepared as possible.

A great first-timer resource is the Packing List on the Ragnarok website. http://www.dagorhir.com/ragnarok/packinglist.html

This covers from your basics, to your suggestions, and even going beyond that to characterization supplements like Elf ears, body paint, and noble jewelery.

In addition to the suggestions made on the Ragnarok website, we live in Missouri folks.. and the weather can be incredibly unpredictable. Weatherproofing your gear can provide you with some incredible comfort in the event that we encounter rain. Information on how to waterproof things like your tent, dining tarps, etc can be found here. Waterproofing cloaks and long period-esque coats is also heavily encouraged! Check out here for leather & here for products covering assorted fabric and more.

First Aid Kits
I can't say enough how important having these kits is at events like this. I would personally suggest kits containing the following:

  • Bandaids (assorted sizes)
  • Ice Packs
  • Pain Medication (Advil, Tylenol)
  • Antibacterial spray or ointment (Our trees bite!)
  • Gauze and Athletic tape (for larger wounds)
  • Sun Tan Lotion
  • Burn Cream (A must if your camp likes a nicely stoked fire!)
Also, camp masters should ensure that they are aware of members of their realm/unit or guests camping with them who have special medical needs (certain medications, etc) and know where to locate these medications if the need arises. Asthmatics! Bring your inhaler to the battlefield with your name on it. If you don't have a pouch on the sidelines, you are more than welcome to leave it at Troll. We'd much rather see you be too careful, and not have an emergency come to light than to have an emergency arise and no one know where to find your medication!

A wood axe or saw is completely cool to bring, but again - ensure that you adhere to the Laws of the Land and leave any healthy vegetation where it belongs, in the ground!

See you on the field!
